Editorial policy
How we create and maintain our guides
Our commitment to accuracy, transparency, and useful information for Florida drivers.
Our standards
Every guide we publish aims to help Florida drivers understand their car insurance options, requirements, and choices. We commit to:
- Sourcing requirements from official sources. Florida coverage requirements, limits, and statutory references cite Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Florida Statutes, or other authoritative sources.
- Using plain language. We explain insurance concepts in clear terms that make sense to people requesting quotes, not just industry professionals.
- Marking what we don't know. When a coverage detail depends on the policy, carrier, or individual circumstances, we say so rather than overgeneralizing.
- No false claims. We do not claim to offer the cheapest rates, guarantee savings, or rank as "#1." We do not invent prices or promise specific amounts.
Who creates our content
Guides are researched and written by Florida Car Insurance Prices staff. We cite official sources for statutory requirements and use our experience helping Florida drivers request quotes to explain how the process works.
We do not invent reviewers or claim credentials we don't have. When a guide includes author or reviewer attribution, that person is real and the credential is verified.
How we handle updates
Florida insurance law and carrier offerings change. When we learn of a relevant change:
- We update the affected guide to reflect current requirements or practices
- For significant changes (like a statutory update), we note what changed and when
- Guides show a last-updated date so readers know how current the information is
Minor updates — fixing typos, improving clarity, or adding cross-links — happen as needed and may not trigger a new last-updated date unless the substance changed.
Reporting errors or requesting corrections
If you find an error, outdated information, or something that needs clarification in one of our guides, contact us at privacy@floridacarinsuranceprices.com.
Please include:
- The specific guide or page
- What you believe is incorrect or outdated
- A source or citation for the correct information, if available
We review all correction requests. If we agree the information needs updating, we'll make the change and note it in the guide. If the request is outside our scope (for example, asking us to change how a specific carrier's policy works), we'll explain why we can't make that change.
How our business model affects content
Florida Car Insurance Prices operates a quote request service. When you submit a request through our form, we share it with licensed insurance providers who may contact you about available options. We may be compensated when a quote request results in a policy purchase.
This business model means we have an interest in helping you request a quote. It does not mean:
- We favor one carrier over another (we are not appointed by carriers)
- We recommend buying more coverage than you need
- We invent or distort requirements to encourage quote requests
Our guides aim to explain what Florida law requires, what different coverage options do, and how the quote process works — so you can make an informed choice.
Methodology for pricing content
When we publish information about Florida car insurance rates or costs, we use data from official sources such as the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. See our Methodology for details about how we source, calculate, and present pricing information.
We do not guarantee that any driver will pay the amounts shown in our data. Your actual quote depends on your driving record, vehicle, coverage choices, and the carrier's underwriting.
